Wallpapering Trends in 2009

Everyone who is in the know, has seen the movement to ‘green’. The environment is on everybody’s mind when it comes just about anything these days. This is also true in Wallpaper motifs, such as leaves, tree branches, flowers, birds and animal skins. The patterns, will often be presented, in silhouette or tone on tone, with colors influenced by nature. Greens from yellow to mossy, red based blues of every shade from light to dark, and red based browns. Grasscloth is the “new-again wallcovering. Natural textures are very appealing. Mother Nature is our inspiration in most cases but ethnic trends are in the works as well.

Wallpaper does not need to be on every wall in your house but you should not just cover all your walls with paint either. Add dimension and texture with wallpaper when paint just doesn’t cut it.

Look around at high end hotels and resorts, you will see wallcoverings. They create a dramatic impact that could be geometric, bold or subtle, but still art. If you watch the design shows, the soaps and just about anything going, you will be surprised at the wallcoverings in each backdrop.
